I did want to mention that I missed photos of some of the better cars such as the Maserati, Silver Viper, Porsche Cayman S, and others. One particular thing I wanted to mention was in the tourist trap known as the Waikiki shopping district, I was doing fine avoiding spending any money…. until I found the blasted Ferrari retail store. …
Well, there was one particular street in Honolulu that was a good street to go down, unfortunately I found it too late. It had that Porsche and Jag dealer as well as some others. It is always fun to hit the dealers to see what fun stuff is going on. Maybe next time.
I was hoping this car was a AMG SL55 but it turned out to just be a run of the mill SL550. Certainly a nice car, but a Mercedes is typically a bit too plush for me, though some of the AMG, especially the black series cars, are impressive. This was a looker, but a cruiser beyond that.
I actually saw this car several times in our same parking garage and finally just decided to snap a photo. It is a convertible BMW M3, E46 vintage. Not a bad car, but appeared to be a daily driver, which shouldn’t have surprised me since it was a convertible.
Well, on another occasion we walked down to the parking garage to pick up our car for the day’s outing when what to our wondering eyes should appear? A nice looking 2008 dodge viper. An all black car in a dimly lit parking garage is difficult to get a good photo of, so I did the best I could with …
Now this was a nice find! A porsche 911 993 vintage Turbo! The last of the aircooled 911’s and perhaps the next collectible 911. We found this one in the parking lot of the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor. It was parked in the restricted access (military) area and I was wondering just exactly what job the owner had!! Because …
… and was a very nice BMW M5. This uber sedan dwarfed the little Elise and with its might V10 it has well over twice the HP. When the group of tourist came out when we were photographing the car, the little red lotus did garner nearly all the attention. The M5 is impressive, but it is a sedan, people …
Now we were starting to spot some more exotic metal. This Lotus Elise was parked down in an alley that lead to a separate hotel. We spotted it from the balcony of the place we were staying at and headed down to take a look. I personally like the Exige better, but the little Elise is a great drivers car …
At the actual place we were staying at in Waikiki we had to park in valet parking, and surprisingly we saw some decent cars in the lot. This was a fairly new Jaguar XF that showed its face a few times and looked very good. Nothing like a svelte Jag to get the camera out of the bag.
It was not long after we saw the Boxster above that we ran into this 911 Carrera Convertible. It drove by and I actually snapped this photo through the front windshield which explains the fairly low quality. It was a good car, but it lost some of its glamor when we discovered it was a rental car from a shop …
Well, as if you didn’t think would see a Porsche Boxster somewhere on the island, in fact, we saw quite a few Boxsters. This is a 987 (second gen boxster) and looks good in blue, though I’m not sure about that blue top, the tan interior is nice though. We saw this one up at the North Shore. Of course, …
