This is a survivor 1979 Corvette with 53,000 miles. The car carries its original Classic White paint and came with Oyster Interior from the factory. The car runs and drives very well and has good power and acceleration. The car was ordered with the following options:
Exterior Paint: Classic White
Power Door Locks
L48 350cid Engine 195hp
Removable Glass Roof Panels
Tilt-Telescopic Steering Column
As mentioned the car is a survivor car and carries its original paint job and almost everything else is original as well. The car does have tasteful custom hand painted pin striping (see the pictures) that appears to have been applied in the early 1980s or so. The running gear is all original and runs very well. There is a power steering leak and a some drops of oil, typical for these original cars, and they can be fixed if wanted. The driver side glass top is cracked (see pictures) which is a bummer, but it does not leak. The previous owner also mounted a modern CD player in the glovebox (see pictures) to provide modern entertainment if the sound of the engine is not enough.
We replaced the seats with new factory correct seat cushions and coverings in the same Oyster color and they still smell new and are excellent and correct for the car. We kept the original seat cushions for those that may want to have the factory originals (though I’m not sure why you would). Everything is there for the A/C but it appears to need a charge as it is not blowing cold right now, though it has before. The power windows work very well.
Like I said, it is a survivor car, so the paint has some chips and is worn in a few spots, but for its age it is showing pretty good. The tires are newer with 97%+ tread left. The Rallye wheels are also the originals and there is some markings on the beauty rings, but overall are in very good condition.
This is a very good driving original car that is not perfect, but would be a delightful driver that you can fix up the little things here and there as you go…or just keep driving and enjoying it as is. It is getting hard to find these classics in good original condition like this one.
